About Us

Definitely Detective Agency is a team dedicated to correcting all misspelled variations of the word “definitely”. We are committed to uncovering and rectifying these atrocious errors, wherever and whenever we find them.

Allison Whisler - Chief and Founder

Allison has lots of experience editing the spelling and grammar errors of others. As editor of Imagine online magazine, a moderator on the Rebelution forums and adviser of many other written endeavors, she has gained much knowledge in the area of correct usage of the English language. Ever since she was 8 years old, Allison has been correcting her friends' spelling. In addition to being chief of the DDA, Allison also enjoys leading a Bright Lights group, homeschooling through high school, being an Air Force "brat," and living her life to glorify Christ. She has a passion to see "church girls" become passionate lovers of Jesus Christ. Allison is looking forward to serving the population of the world by assisting in education of the general public on the correct spelling of definitely.

Carissa Mann - Assistant Chief and Magistrate

Editor on several forums (including TheRebelution.com) and a few prominent blogs, Carissa enjoys fixing errors wherever she finds them. Correct spelling, grammar, etc. is very important to her. So, when she noticed that people frequently spelled the word definitely wrong, it distressed her a great deal, and she went about fixing it wherever she could and educating all who were willing to learn. However, as the task was to great for her alone, she has joined forces with the DDA to help right this common error. She also has a history in law enforcement, having taken the responsibility upon herself to keep order among the children during the Parent Enrichment Meetings (PEM). She takes things very seriously, and is very dedicated to educating people on the correct spelling of “definitely”. Together, she says, we can make a difference!

Andrea Powell - Officer and Secretary

Andrea is an experienced editor, having edited a book for a career consultant, as well as editing for an online forum (TheRebelution.com) and several blogs. She is currently taking a two year course in general writing skills, and has been interested in writing her whole life. Andrea noticed the decline of superior spelling skills on the internet, especially pertaining to the word “definitely”, some time ago, yet felt unable to do anything about it on her own. She was thrilled to stumble across the DDA and hopes through their continued efforts a revival of high-quality spelling will occur in the near future. When not adamantly correcting spelling errors, Andrea enjoys quilting, sewing, knitting, spinning, reading, cooking, worship dance and ballet, dreaming about Porsches, and learning new things.
